Nur-Sultan gas networks were transferred to the national gas operator

Akimat of Nur-Sultan and KazTransGas Aimak JSC signed a Trust management agreement for the constructed gas distribution networks. To date, four launch complexes have been built and put into operation.

Intra-city gas distribution networks are built of the state budget by local authorities. Currently, out of the planned 486.5 km of gas pipelines, Akimat of Nur-Sultan has built 78.23 km, 8 gas distribution stations, 7 cathodic protection devices and 140 tread protection devices.

In November 2019, the Astana production branch of KazTransGas Aimak JSC was established for the purpose of gas transportation through distribution systems and gas supply to gas consumers in Nur-Sultan. Currently, the Branch is working on issuing technical specifications to consumers to connect the gas supply system. Technical specifications have already been issued to individuals and legal entities, the number below:

– 90 for Zheleznodorozhniy microdistrict and South-East microdistrict ;
– 85 for Promyshenniy;
– 356 for Koktal.

It is planned to switch to gas 22 thousand consumers of the private residential sector, about 192 private boilers, 48 small utility boilers, 2 thermal power plants in Nur-Sultan (hot water boilers), as well as objects of municipal and industrial consumers.

In 2021, gas consumption in Nur-Sultan is planned at the level of 99.2 million m3, including the population of 3.6 million m3, municipal consumers 2.4 million m3, industrial enterprises 6.7 million m3, heat and power companies 86.4 million m3.
